Description

Every year we would go on ‘trip’, a momentous time. It was the greatest part of camp. We would take canoes out and paddle across Algonquin Park., the most beautiful landscape I have ever seen. It was so wild and free. It’s rolling hills majestic and it’s clear waters.

Then just after I photographed this magnificent scene we portaged to an other lake. It was a dirty small thing with seaweed reaching the top of the water and water brown as excrement. in a far corner of the lake lay a lone petroleum drum, empty. I felt as though someone had raped this place. It was so horrible for me to see this. I doubt that one beryl did all that damage, but it still angered me.
